About Us

"The National English Honors Society (NEHS), founded and sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, is the only international organization exclusively for high school students and faculty who, in the field of English, merit special note for past and current accomplishments. Individual high schools are invited to petition for a local chapter, through which individuals may be inducted into Society membership. Immediate benefits of affiliation include international recognition, scholarship eligibility, and opportunities for international networking with others who share enthusiasm for, and accomplishment in, the language arts."

The Chattahoochee National English Honors Society similarly seeks to recognize students with enthusiasm, passion, or accomplishment in the language arts, foster high school students’ interest in literature, and provide a platform for student creative writing. The club also aims to expose students to literature of world cultures not commonly addressed in classes.

We plan to offer English tutoring, peer editing essay services, and college application essay assistance for Chattahoochee students. Once students return to school, we will organize book drives/donations and facilitate events such as coffeehouse poetry readings and festivals to encourage students to read more actively and explore unfamiliar literature. Similarly, the club will publish a monthly newsletter with student creative writing submissions and literature related content. We will feature one submission each month on our website.
